Feb 08 Director and cast onboard for THE FANCY

Walter Hill (THE WARRIORS, DEADWOOD and producer of the ALIEN franchise) is onboard to direct THE FANCY - the violent story of 1790s bare-knuckle boxing.

Ben Barnes (PRINCE CASPIAN, EASY VIRTUE, STARDUST) is onboard to play the lead fighter.

Jan 08 Director onboard for INSIDE

Parachute and Pathe UK have attracted Clark Johnson (SWAT, THE SENTINEL, THE WIRE) on to their UK thriller INSIDE. Clark has just wrapped on the closing episodes of THE WIRE. Now out to cast.

20.11.07 New Production Finance Deal

Parachute is teaming with the YARI FILM GROUP (CRASH, THE ILLUSIONIST, THE PAINTED VEIL) on its romantic comedy, HOPELESS ROMANTIC, by Ben Miller and Sophie Winkleman.

Bob Yari will produce alongside Colin Jones. Bob is one of the industry's leading independent producers - having produced over 30 projects in the last 6 years.

Currently, out to cast.

08.09.07 New development deal

Parachute has recently signed with writer Nick Barber on his new comedy project, FURTHER EDUCATION. Nick is film critic for the Independent newspaper as well as an experienced comedy writer for television.

FURTHER EDUCATION is a UK based buddy comedy that asks the question - if you could give your 19-year-old self some advice, what would it be?.

19.02.07 New development deal

Parachute has recently signed with Capitol Films on its new thriller project, LULLABY, to be written by Timothy Harris (TRADING PLACES, FALLING DOWN).

Capitol's credits include GOSFORD PARK, JEEPERS CREEPERS, LUCKY NUMBER SLEVIN. Marc Samuelson (STORMBREAKER, WILDE, ARLINGTON ROAD) will act as Executive Producer.

LULLABY is the story of a couple who begin fertility treatment in the hope of conceiving a much longed for child. Their nine month journey, however, is fraught with worry at every turn.

4.10.06 New development deal

Parachute has boarded family comedy project SON OF DOG by Will Davies (casting director THE DESCENT, SEVERANCE). The project is being backed the UK Film Council Development Fund.

A 13 year old boy, tormented by the angst and frustrations of teenage life, longs for more excitement and more freedom. When kidnapped by a satanic cult and hailed as their new anti-messiah he seems to have got what he was wishing for.

21.09.06 Attachment of Executive Producer

Parachute has attached Marc Samuelson (STORMBREAKER, WILDE, ARLINGTON ROAD) as Executive Producer on its romantic comedy, HOPELESS ROMANTIC, by Ben Miller and Sophie Winkleman.

Marc is one of the industry's most experienced producers and has recently finished work on STORMBREAKER starring Ewan McGregor, Bill Nighy, Mickey Rourke and Alicia Silverstone – based on the first of the best-selling series of Alex Rider novels by Anthony Horowitz. STORMBREAKER was the largest independently produced UK film of 2006 and took over £6 million at the UK box office.

Ben Miller (SAXONDALE, STARRY NIGHT) is attached to direct HOPELESS ROMANTIC. Thandie Newton (CRASH, THE PURSUIT OF HAPPYNESS) is to play PATIENCE, the female lead role. Filming set for Autumn 2007. Gail Stevens is casting.

25.04.2006: New development deal

Parachute is delighted to sign with Pathé UK on its new thriller project, INSIDE, by Timothy Harris (TRADING PLACES, FALLING DOWN).

Pathé’s productions in 2006 include THE QUEEN, THE WIND THAT SHAKES THE BARLEY, VOLVER and PERFUME. François Ivernel and Cameron McCracken will act as Executive Producers.

INSIDE is the story of an agoraphobic former-travel writer, forced to live within the confines of his London apartment, who becomes the sole witness to a murder. When the murderer turns on him there is nowhere to run.
